28 day Vegan Detox Completed!

My detox is always a learning experience

After successfully completing a month-long detox from meat, dairy, bread, pasta, alcohol, sugar and caffeine, I feel stronger mentally and physically.  I am saving my health by cutting out processed foods, dairy, and meats pumped with hormones and antibiotics.  Now I eat grass-fed meat, wild caught fish, and pasture-raised eggs, but I try to stay away from all other meats and fish that don’t have these labels.

Why I like to Detox

The primary reason I detox is to cleanse my body of toxins, create healthy habits, restore my organs and replenish my body and mind. The main goal is not to lose weight, however, I usually lose 5-7 lbs. with a significant change in my face, abdomen, and arms. Three weeks into my detox, I shot a Pilates DVD for Pilates Sports Center and was happy with the way I looked and felt for the video shoot!

My 28 day detox

  1. No pasta, bread, alcohol, sugar, meat or dairy (fish is ok)
  2. Meditate every day for 5-7 minutes. I thoroughly enjoyed how calming it is!
  3. Have a fresh green shake in the morning and afternoon
  4. I add Maca powder to the shake to help balance hormones and replenish adrenal glands
  5. Eat a leafy green salad every day and incorporate organic veggies and raw nuts on a daily basis.
  6. Stay away from drama!
